Role Description The Pharmacist-In-Charge is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Corpus Christi, TX. This role oversees daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing medications, verifying prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist-In-Charge supervises pharmacy technicians, provides clinical guidance, and maintains high standards for safe medication handling and compounding practices. Responsibilities include managing inventory and controlled substances, overseeing quality assurance and documentation, and maintaining pharmacy policies and procedures. The role also involves counseling patients, providing immunizations, collaborating with healthcare providers, and promoting a culture of safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice, including dispensing, counseling, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience overseeing Pharmacy Technicians, with the ability to train, mentor, and manage workflow effectively.
- Demonstrated expertise in Prescription verification, medication safety, and controlled substance management.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Texas (or eligibility for timely licensure).
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Previous experience in a community pharmacy and/or compounding environment is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and patient safety.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Willing to support and be flexible with new pharmacy endeavors.
