The Seasonal Cashiers at Sunnyside Gardens are responsible for providing accurate, friendly, and efficient service in checking out customer purchases.
Position Duties
- Assist customers by ringing up their purchases accurately and promptly. Assist customers in carrying their purchases, selecting their plants and other products, and answering their questions.
- Resolve customer issues as needed and inform management of any customer issues or concerns that are not completely resolved to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Maintain grounds of the retail center and nursery including but not limited to weeding, sweeping, etc.
- Replenish and restock bags, boxes, cashier area supplies, and other products as necessary.
- Communicate with co-workers and management in a clear and timely manner.
- Continually expand plant and product knowledge in order to assist customers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience Required
- Prior retail experience preferred.
- Experience and/or ability to work point-of-sale register required.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
Skills Required
- Must display good communication, organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and have strong math skills.
- Must be friendly, possess a team mentality, and the ability to build rapport.
- Must have the ability to perform physical labor, accept and adapt to change, be able to work in a fast-paced environment independently.
- Must be able and willing to work weekends including Mother's Day weekend.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must be able to lift and push up to 50lbs.
