Astria Health is seeking a Cook Assistant to join our team at our Toppenish Hospital! This is a FullTime Day Shift position. Monday - Thursday 6:00am to 2:30pm

What you get to do!

As the Cook Assistant you will be u nder the general supervision of the Food Services Manager and the Cook, the Cook’s Assistant prepares food in accordance with the applicable federal, state and organizational standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times. You will:

• Prepare food products utilizing basic and advanced cooking techniques, standard recipes, and plating guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, microwaves, slicers, toasters, automatic and manual coffee machines, food processors and blenders.
• Meet production schedules in accordance with health, safety and sanitary procedures.
• Ensure proper utilization and storage of food and supplies within the kitchen.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and work areas throughout the shift.
• Participates in recipe and menu development.
• Support or relieve Food Services staff with lower-level food preparation tasks, dish, utensil and equipment washing and sanitation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.
• Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.

What you bring to the role:

• High School Graduation or GED.
• Current Washington State Food Handler Card
• Two or more years’ experience in food preparation, cooking and baking.
• Knowledge of proper food handling procedures and techniques.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive compensation range for candidates hired into each position. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. This position is not associated with a union contract.
