Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and engaging After-school Program Teacher (School Age) to join our team. This role involves supervising and supporting children in a safe, nurturing environment and provide the high quality academic guided after school hours. Experience in teaching STEM, reading, writing, art, math, or related fields is highly valued. Duties
- Supervise and engage children in structured and unstructured activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum activities aligned with developmental milestones
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
- Assist with homework or workbook help and tutoring sessions as needed
- Coordinate recreational activities such as sports coaching, arts and crafts, science, math, reading writing, or other enrichment programs
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behavior
- Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures when necessary
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan program schedules and special events
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment
- Experience working with school age children in settings such as K12, camp, or tutoring
- Knowledge of children development principles and behavior management strategies
- First aid certification or ability to obtain certification prior to employment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members
- Creative skills related to STEM, arts & crafts, or sports coaching are desirable
- Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with school-age children
