Job Description
We are seeking a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Afterschool Teacher / Homework Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate enjoys working with school-age children and is committed to creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise children during the afterschool program.
- Assist students with homework and provide academic support.
- Plan and lead educational and recreational activities.
- Encourage positive behavior and social development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
- Communicate professionally with parents and staff.
- Follow all center policies and licensing regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children school-age children.
- Familiarity with elementary school curriculum and learning standards.
- Experience assisting students with homework across core subjects.
- Proficiency with educational platform such as IXL, i-Ready, and Imaging Learning.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Patient, dependable, and energetic personality.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must pass a background screening as required by state regulations.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
Schedule:
- Part-time
- Monday–Friday
- Afterschool hours (approximately 2:00 PM–7:00 PM)
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
Salary : $16
