Job Summary:
Sunny Hills ALF is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our dedicated team. The Med Tech is responsible for administering medications to residents per physician orders, monitoring residents for any adverse reactions, and assisting with daily care needs to ensure their overall well-being. This role is vital in providing exceptional care and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications to residents according to state regulations and facility policies.
- Accurately document medication administration, changes, and observations in residents’ records.
- Monitor residents for medication side effects or adverse reactions and report concerns to the nurse or supervisor.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, and mobility.
- Maintain medication carts, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper medication storage.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals regarding medication regimens and care needs.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a healthy environment.
- Assist with vital signs, weight monitoring, and other routine health checks as needed.
- Respond to emergencies promptly and follow established procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
