Our Internal Audit team is hiring!
Starting pay: $72-82k annualized, based on experience.
Typical schedule, Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm. As needed, will travel to our financial centers. Majority of time will be working onsite in Latham. Eligible for hybrid work, up to two days per week, after 90 days of employment.
Assist the Internal Audit Department in reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations for the correction and/or improvement of internal, operational, and management control systems and organizational unit performance.
- Performs audit fieldwork as directed by the Manager of Internal Audit. Completes work, following procedures detailed in Audit Programs, within established time budget. Organizes and systematically completes work papers, according to industry standards, to document work performed, the procedures and methods used, and conclusions or results of the test work.
- Prepare reports on all low and moderate risk audits performed with oversight by the Manager of Internal Audit. Identify issues relating to compliance with laws, regulations, policy and credit union standards and areas that require strengthening internal controls.
- Evaluates compliance with regulations, policies and procedures applicable to the credit union’s operations in all departments and branches. Identifies areas of risk, inefficiencies, compliance violations, and control weaknesses.
- Interviews credit union staff as needed to gather relevant information to complete assignments
- Reviews policies, procedures, and workflow to identify inadequate segregation of duties and/or lack of dual controls.
- Communicate information, suggestions and/or problem issues regarding audit status and critical findings.
- Analyze results and develop appropriate corresponding findings and recommendations for enhancement.
- Participate in discussions with management at the conclusion of each audit, discussing deficiencies found.
- Performs detailed testing of consumer, mortgage and home equity loan originations.
- Performs random branch audits with oversight by the Manager of Internal Audit.
- Monitor the follow-up of corrective actions taken by management for recommendations made in the audit reports.
- Assists with NCUA exams, DFS exams and other external audits, as needed.
- Maintain a sound understanding of auditing principles and techniques.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related with a minimum of 3 years auditing experience. Preference will be given to financial services audit experience. Proficiency with Word and Excel. Ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail and good organizational skills. Ability to work with highly confidential information, to meet deadlines, and a willingness to work flexible hours when required.
Salary : $72,000 - $82,000
