Supply Chain Director
Location: Greensboro, NC; Mebane, NC Department: Procurement Reports To: VP of Operations
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Director of Supply Chain to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain operations at Sunlight Batteries.
The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for developing and executing strategies that optimize the end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
· Develop and implement supply chain strategies to support business objectives.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, planning, and logistics.
Operations Management:
· Oversee demand forecasting, inventory control, and supplier performance.
· Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services.
· Lead initiatives to implement lean supply chain practices, including pull systems and Kanban.
Vendor & Supplier Relations:
· Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
· Monitor compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
· Establish KPIs and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery.
· Drive supplier transition projects and risk mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions.
Team Development:
· Lead and mentor a high-performing supply chain team.
· Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
Risk & Compliance:
· Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Key Qualifications:
· 7-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, including procurement and planning leadership.
· Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred) and master scheduling principles.
· Proven ability to manage multi-site operations and lead cross-functional projects.
· Expertise in lean supply chain concepts and inventory optimization strategies.
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
· Bilingual English/Spanish or German a plus.
