Job Description
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Lead Acid Battery Formation Supervisor to manage and optimize the formation process of lead acid batteries in our manufacturing facility. The Lead Acid Battery Formation Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a team of formation technicians, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and achieving production targets. This role requires a deep understanding of lead acid battery formation procedures, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The Lead Acid Battery Formation Supervisor will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure the successful completion of formation operations.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a team of formation technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high productivity and quality output.
Oversee the formation process of lead-acid batteries, including charging, discharging, and equalization, to meet production targets while maintaining optimal battery performance.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a secure work environment for all formation personnel.
Monitor and analyze formation data, including voltage, temperature, and specific gravity readings, to identify trends, address deviations, and optimize formation parameters.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to develop and improve formation procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Conduct regular audits of formation equipment, ensuring proper calibration, maintenance, and functionality to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Develop and maintain documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and training materials, to ensure consistent and standardized formation processes.
Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment required for formation operations.
Collaborate with the production planning team to schedule and prioritize formation activities based on demand forecasts and customer orders.
Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in lead acid battery formation processes, and recommend and implement process improvements as appropriate.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in lead acid battery formation operations, with a minimum of three years in a supervisory or leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of lead acid battery formation procedures, including charging, discharging, and equalization techniques.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team toward achieving production targets.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address formation issues promptly.
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using software tools such as Excel or battery management systems.
Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear instructions and feedback.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality assurance and process optimization.
