JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Paramedic
Directly Reports To: Chief EMT
Status: Hourly
Description
Responsible for all aspects of care provided to the sick and injured. Performs a variety of advanced emergency medical response duties as needed to deliver at-the-scene and in transport medical support services.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains and operates an emergency medical vehicle.
- Treat patients at the scene, in route to hospital and in pre-hospital settings in accordance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and standards and in accordance with SPRC EMS policies rules and guidelines.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable current standards of care, including equipment functions and uses.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
- Minimal 2 years of pre-hospital emergency direct patient care
- Minimal 1 year of patient care in a clinical setting.
Required Certifications:
- NREMT/P – National Registered Paramedic
- NMEMT/P – New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician / Paramedic
- TXEMT/P – Texas Emergency Medical Technician / Paramedic
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- CPR – Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
Special Skills:
- AMLS – Advanced Medical Life Support
- PHTLS – Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support
- EPC – Emergency Pediatric Care
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program
