POSITION PURPOSE
The Telematics & Dashcam Installation Technician will play a pivotal role in installation and upkeep of our fleet tracking and driver safety equipment installation. Your expertise will be utilized across a variety of vehicle and trailer types, focusing on ensuring impeccable GPS functionality and camera clarity. This position provides the flexibility of being predominantly on the road, allowing you to experience diverse assignments across multiple State locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
- Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
- Efficiently install equipment ensuring the highest quality of installations.
- Install and test telematics systems on fleet and commercial vehicles.
- Address maintenance requests with promptness.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, whether onsite or in the shop.
- Educate customers on the intricacies of camera system operations and functions.
- Maintain meticulous records through accurate paperwork and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Safety
- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations.
- All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Serves as a safety ambassador by complying with federal, state and local laws, as well as Company safety policy, enforces safe work practices, and proactively identifies and remedies worksite hazards.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and routinely uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees, the ability to interpret printed materials and a laptop, the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- The role may involve extended periods of walking, standing, and physical labor.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may be required for special events or projects.
- Will be required to work on project sites, will be exposed to all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.
Travel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma or GED or sufficient experience required.
- Proficiency in 12V electrical wiring.
- Capability to distinguish wire colors and establish precise wiring connections.
- Adeptness in using a multimeter and essential installation tools.
- Proficient with smartphone/laptop.
- A valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screenings
- Mechanically inclined with an eye for detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Stellar customer service.
- Proficiency in using technology.
- Capability to function both independently and within a team framework.
- Maintaining professionalism in all communications.
- Physically fit to lift up to 50 LBS and adapt to diverse weather conditions.
