Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Sales Associate
- Safety - Ensures safety is the number one priority within the Carton Plant. Maintains a safe working environment for all employees. Identifies areas where safety issues could arise and take the proper measures to proactively address the concerns.
- Participates in the Carton Plants Safety Committee. Enforces plants safety regulations and housekeeping practices and encourages employees to become safety conscious. Maintains on-going safety plan. Instills a “proactive” approach towards safety with employee involvement. Ensures safety rule compliance across shift.
- Quality and Continuous Improvement - Reviews quality and cost/continuous improvements: implements corrective/preventive actions for customer complaints, performance: equipment effectiveness, waste and downtime. Ensures corrective/preventive actions are implemented for internal and external customer complaints. Maintains effective departmental quality procedures. Leads teams and participate in team based activities in pursuit of continuous improvement. Coaches and provides disciplinary actions, training plans, professional development plans for direct reports with plant manager.
- Production and Cost Improvement - Leads team to achieve performance objectives through monitoring and reaction to measured performance metrics including overall Equipment Effectiveness, waste and downtime. admin: timecards, requests for time off, reports and other general admin. Implements innovative and creative with process improvements. Ensures shift receives feedback and updates on improvement plans.
- Ensures that on a daily basis all company standards and customer commitments (ie: safety, quality, production, on-time delivery) are followed within the mill. Supervise employees to accomplish safety, quality, productivity and efficiency goals. Builds effective relationships with all internal departments to produce a superior product.
- Controls workload factors and workflow to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools, and equipment. Prepares and submits reports as required. Works with Maintenance to help prioritize work orders and preventative maintenance schedules; help to eliminate barriers in making repairs. Works with Department Managers on production schedule and planned maintenance events.
- Personnel - Works with Plant Superintendent on employee relation activities and the counseling and mentoring of direct reports. Ensures investigative meetings are conducted prior to recommending disciplinary action and ensure discipline is applied consistently and correctly across shift. Develops training plans for direct reports for their personal and professional development “Succession Planning”.
- Conducts performance reviews on a biannual basis, admin: timecards, request for time off,
reports and other general admin. Assists in various training sessions to include, but not limited to, new employee orientation, safety meetings, team training, leadership training, etc.
- Ensures employees are effectively trained to meet expectations of safety and GMP’s.
Minimum Educational and Experience Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have 5-7 years Minimum of 5 years of experience in the corrugated industry, with at least 3 in a supervisory or lead role.
- Preferred 4-year bachelor’s degree Bachelors or AA degree / Trade or technical school with corrugated experience
- Must have a valid, unrestricted California driver's license.
- Possesses effective process management skills.
- Ability to be detail oriented and have the ability to manage the details.
- Ability to be proactive.
- Possesses strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with and influence all levels.
- Ability to effectively conduct meetings and training sessions.
- Possesses computer literate with Microsoft Office and other office equipment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to multi-task and handle a number of issues at one time.
