Retail Customer Service/Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system. The Cashier will also assist in maintaining the store's appearance and stock levels.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with their purchases.
• Accurately process transactions using cash registers or point-of-sale systems.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions securely and efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, products, and services to provide informed recommendations to customers.
• Stock shelves and ensure merchandise is presented neatly and attractively.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional manner.
• Uphold company policies regarding cash handling and customer service standards.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth operation during peak hours.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Proficient in basic math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required.
• Ability to supervise junior staff or assist in training new employees is a plus.

• Familiarity with phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries via phone is beneficial.
