Position Overview
The Guest Services Associate provides a welcoming, efficient, and professional checkout experience while supporting overall store operations. This role ensures accurate transactions, maintains front-end organization, and actively engages guests to support store promotions and cross-department sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly when entering or leaving the store
- Provide attentive, courteous service throughout the checkout experience
- Accurately scan, ring, and process transactions according to store policy
- Properly bag, box, or wrap purchases with care
- Maintain clean, organized checkout, service, and cart areas
- Resolve guest concerns and/or complaints when possible and provide relevant information; escalate appropriately when needed
- Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices
- Follow established procedures to report errors in retail pricing or signage
- Support cross-selling and introduce relevant promotions when appropriate
- Assist guests with product location and basic store information
- Direct guests to other departments when additional support is needed
- Contribute to the success of the entire store by supporting operational and promotional needs as required
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- Comfortable engaging guests proactively
- Basic math and retail transaction skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Available to work a flexible schedule; days, evenings, and Saturdays
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull up to 75 lbs
- Bend, reach, twist, squat, and climb ladders as needed
- Repetitive use of hands for grasping and fine manipulation
- Exposure to temperature variations (coolers, freezer, outdoors)
