About Sunflower Mountain Mental Health

Sunflower Mountain Mental Health is a Colorado outpatient mental health practice providing therapy and psychiatric medication-management services. We are committed to compassionate, evidence-based care in a welcoming environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

Our practice combines clinical care with administrative, scheduling, intake, billing-support, credentialing-related, EHR, and telehealth workflows designed to help clinicians focus on providing quality patient care.

We are reviewing applications from licensed Colorado therapists interested in full-time, part-time, or flexible clinical opportunities. We are especially interested in clinicians with experience or training in child and adolescent therapy, EMDR, or other specialties that align with current patient and practice needs.

About the Opportunity

Therapists at SMMH provide outpatient individual therapy within their scope of practice, licensure, training, and professional qualifications.

The position may include telehealth, in-person services at our Pueblo office, or a hybrid arrangement depending on clinician availability, patient needs, role requirements, and operational considerations.

This is a caseload-based clinical position. Hours and earnings will depend on scheduled and completed appointments as the clinician’s patient base develops. Full-time status is therefore based on maintaining sufficient clinical volume rather than receiving guaranteed payment for unscheduled or idle hours.

The opportunity may be a strong fit for a therapist who values professional communication, timely documentation, patient-centered service, flexibility, and collaboration within a growing outpatient practice.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide outpatient individual therapy within the clinician’s scope of practice, licensure, training, and applicable requirements.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with practice standards, payer requirements, and professional obligations.
  • Develop and maintain clinically appropriate treatment plans.
  • Participate in scheduling, patient communication, documentation, and administrative workflows applicable to the role.
  • Coordinate with practice staff regarding intake, scheduling, billing-support, and patient communication processes when needed.
  • Maintain professional communication with patients, staff, clinicians, and external parties.
  • Participate in consultation, collaboration, meetings, orientation, or training activities as applicable.
  • Support continuity of care through timely communication, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Use the practice’s electronic health record, telehealth, scheduling, and communication systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active Colorado clinical license, such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or another applicable independently licensed credential.
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related clinical field.
  • Ability to provide outpatient therapy within the clinician’s scope of practice.
  • Ability to complete timely, accurate, and professionally appropriate documentation.
  • Ability to use EHR, telehealth, scheduling, and communication systems.
  • Commitment to professional communication, patient-centered service, and practice standards.
  • Ability to meet applicable legal, regulatory, payer, credentialing, and practice requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or training in child and adolescent therapy.
  • EMDR training or certification.
  • Experience providing outpatient individual therapy.
  • Experience delivering services through telehealth.
  • Experience working in a collaborative outpatient mental health practice.
  • Additional specialties, modalities, or clinical focus areas that align with current patient and practice needs.

Current Clinical Areas of Interest

SMMH is particularly interested in applicants with experience, training, or service interest in:

  • Children, preteens, and adolescents
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR
  • Individual outpatient therapy
  • In-person and telehealth service delivery

Experience with younger age groups is especially valued, including toddlers, children, preteens, and teens.

Compensation

  • Billable therapy hours: $35–$45 per hour
  • Administrative time: $20 per hour
  • Bonus eligibility: Quarterly bonus eligibility may apply based on billable-session volume and applicable role criteria.

Billable therapy rates may vary based on licensure, experience, specialties, and role requirements.

Because this position is tied to patient appointments, clinicians are paid for applicable billable therapy services and authorized administrative work. Payment is not provided merely for keeping unscheduled time available when no appointment or assigned administrative work is being performed.

Benefits and Practice Support

Depending on employment arrangement, schedule, eligibility, and applicable policy, support may include:

  • Colorado paid sick leave
  • Continuing education support
  • Professional liability coverage
  • Training and orientation support
  • Scheduling workflows
  • Intake coordination
  • Billing-support workflows
  • Credentialing-related coordination
  • EHR access
  • Telehealth platform access
  • Administrative coordination
  • Team consultation and collaboration
  • Collaboration with medication-management providers
  • Eligible licensure supervision or consultation, subject to supervisor availability, role alignment, applicable requirements, and practice capacity

Work Setting

This position may be:

  • Telehealth
  • In-person at 805 Eagleridge Boulevard, Suite 140, Pueblo, Colorado
  • Hybrid

Applicants must be appropriately licensed to provide services in Colorado. Work setting and support workflows may vary based on role requirements, clinician availability, patient needs, operational considerations, and applicable requirements.
