26-27 School Year Assistant Preschool Teacher

Sunflower Farm’s farm- and nature-based school program is looking for a dynamic, nurturing, and energetic assistant early childhood teacher for children ages 3-5. This is a part-time, entry-level position with potential for more hours through subbing and potential work through the summer of 2027.

Part-Time Hours:

Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 8:15-4:15 from August 18, 2026 - May 21, 2027

Position Requirements:

• Must have experience working in an early childhood setting with children ages 3-5
• Must be willing to complete several required trainings on Colorado Shines PDIS Must be prepared to be both fingerprinted and background checked through the FBI and CBI
• Must be a compassionate, creative, dynamic, energetic, fit, nurturing, and positive individual
• Must be flexible and willing to assist the lead teacher(s) in a variety of ways, including classroom set-up and clean-up, classroom management, lesson plan implementation, etc.
• Must be prepared to be outside on the farm in all types of weather – snow, rain, wind, heat, etc.
• Must have a passion for the outdoors and for farm- and nature-based education
• Must be passionate about the well-being and healthy development of young children
• Must exhibit strong communication skills with children, families, fellow staff members

Pay & Benefits: -

• Assistant pay is $19.50/hr
