What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legislative Affairs Director position at Sunflower Electric Power Corporation?
Sunflower, a generation and transmission utility serving central and western Kansas, is currently looking to hire a Legislative Affairs Director in the Topeka, KS area. We’re looking for a driven and strategic individual to represent and advocate for the interests of Sunflower and our Member cooperatives before state and federal legislative bodies.

- Attend and participate in legislative activities while developing relationships with policymakers, industry partners, and stakeholders.
- Represent Sunflower and our Member cooperatives in industry organizations, coalitions, and working groups.
- Design and lead initiatives to support beneficial legislation and advance strategic interests through targeted advocacy.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, law, business administration, communications or related field and seven years experience in state and/or federal lobbying, government relations, legislative affairs, public policy, or regulatory advocacy; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must currently be or become a Registered Kansas Lobbyist within the first six months.
