Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through effective chairside assisting.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits as a dental receptionist.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant
- Proficient in using EMR systems
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
- Ability to perform imaging tasks using 3D scanners when necessary.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask effectively in a busy clinic setting.
