What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Intervention Specialist position at Sunderlin Behavioral Interventions?
This role is not for everyone.
Working as a Behavior Therapist (RBT) can be both incredibly rewarding and uniquely challenging. You’ll face difficult situations, need to adapt quickly, and support clients and families through ups and downs. If you’re looking for an “easy” job, this may not be the right fit. But if you’re resilient, eager to learn, and want to make a real impact while growing your career, you’ll thrive with us.
Looking to join an amazing team? Interested in professional growth within a supportive environment?
Sunderlin Behavioral is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated individuals with a passion for making a difference in the lives of others. If you’re looking for more than just another job—and want to be part of a company that values quality, compassion, and long-term growth—we want to hear from you!
About the Role:
As a Behavior Therapist (RBT), you’ll work one-on-one with clients in their homes, schools, or community settings, using evidence-based ABA treatment programs. You’ll help clients improve social, play, language, and adaptive skills, while reducing challenging behaviors that impact daily life.
What Makes This Role Unique:
- Our work is deeply rewarding, but it can also be challenging. You’ll need to be adaptable, resilient, and able to cope with difficult situations.
- If you’re someone who can stay positive, problem-solve on the fly, and keep going when things get tough, you’ll thrive here.
- We’re looking for career-minded individuals who want to grow with us—not just fill a position.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- BA or BS Degree (preferred)
- RBT certification (preferred)
- Previous ABA experience or experience with special needs populations (preferred)
- Available weekday afternoons and occasional Saturdays
- Willing to drive up to 45 minutes for on-site appointments (Boise and surrounding areas)
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accurate data and timesheets
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
If you’re not comfortable with challenging situations, or if you’re looking for an “easy” job, this may not be the right fit. But if you’re ready to learn, grow, and make a real impact, we’d love to meet you!
