What are the responsibilities and job description for the Partnership Lead - US position at sunday?
sunday is building the fastest, simplest way to pay in restaurants. With a quick scan of a QR code, diners can pay, tip, and leave in about 10 seconds. We believe great products should feel obvious, not complicated, and we focus relentlessly on keeping things simple while earning trust from restaurants and guests at every interaction. Today, sunday powers payments in thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators turn tables faster, increase tips, and unlock valuable insights. We push ourselves to go beyond what’s expected, building with ownership, moving fast, and scaling with ambition as we tackle our biggest growth opportunity in the US.
We’re looking for a Partnerships Lead to own and grow sunday’s full portfolio of US Partnerships. Partnerships are a core growth channel for us - this person will set the strategic direction for how we expand our partner ecosystem in the US, while owning the execution end-to-end.
This is the first dedicated partnerships hire in the US and an opportunity to build the function from the ground up. The role reports directly to the US CRO and works cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Product to unlock the full potential of our partner channels.
Partnership Management & Strategy
- Own the day-to-day management and strategic direction of sunday’s existing US partner portfolio - spanning integration partners (POS, loyalty, etc) and GTM partners (cross-sell and referral relationships)
- Define the strategy for expanding sunday’s partner ecosystem in the US - identifying which new integration partners to pursue, building the business cases, and leading the end-to-end process to sign and activate them
- Lead all commercial negotiations - renewals, amendments, and net-new deals - and manage prioritization across a broad partner portfolio
- Partner with Product on integration roadmaps and build compelling business cases for new technical partnerships
Sales Partnerships & Growth
- Build and deepen co-sell and referral relationships with both existing and new partners - turning partner channels into a meaningful driver of US revenue growth
- Design and execute GTM plans for new partnerships - working closely with Sales and Marketing to activate channels, build joint materials, and drive measurable impact
- Continuously identify opportunities to supercharge existing partner channels - pushing beyond relationship maintenance to find new ways to grow with each partner
- 6–8 years of experience in partnerships in payments, fintech, or restaurant tech
- Strong familiarity with the POS ecosystem - you understand who the major players are, how they go to market, and how to build mutually valuable relationships with them
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder partner relationships from initial deal through to long-term growth
- Commercial chops - you’re comfortable in a negotiation room and know how to structure deals that work for both sides
- Strong executive presence - you can walk into a room with a senior partner, hold your own, and represent sunday with confidence and credibility
- Thrives as an individual contributor - energized by doing the work directly and comfortable owning a function without a team beneath them (for now)
- Cross-functional collaborator - you know how to work with Sales, Marketing, and Product without needing authority to get things done
- A genuine passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry
Nice to Have:
- Existing relationships within the POS or restaurant tech ecosystem
- Experience at a high-growth startup (Series A–C) where you’ve had to build without a lot of infrastructure
- Competitive salary: $150,000 – $200,000 base stock options
- Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision) for you and your dependents
- 401(k) plan
- Flexible, unlimited PTO policy
- Hybrid work setup: 3 days/week in office in NYC
- Broad scope of responsibilities and real autonomy from day one
- Opportunity to build the US Partnership function from the ground up at a high-growth company
- Share your story: Application with resume
- Let's get to know each other through a phone screen interview
- Meet with the hiring manager
- Impress your future colleagues with a case study
- Meet with people from other departments and understand our culture
- Offer: we want you
- Reference Checks (3 most recent managers)
Thank you for taking the time to apply, and looking forward to getting to know you!
