Duties
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, Hi-Lo lifts, and other material handling equipment to load and unload shipments.
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems and barcode scanning technology to track materials accurately.
- Perform order picking with manual handling techniques and order picker equipment to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
- Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure all machinery operates safely and effectively.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock within storage areas and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts (including lift trucks), reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or Hi-Lo lifts in a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations including inventory management systems and materials handling procedures.
- Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and shipment processing.
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution is highly preferred.
- Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications such as warehouse supervisor experience or order picker training are a plus.
