SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Head of Maintenance the Summer Custodians are responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the school.  This is a temporary position running May 26, 2026 – August 15, 2026.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Head of Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways and other areas of building according to school district standards.
2. Performs tasks to maintain buildings and grounds in safe and operable condition, such as making minor repairs to property as requested, clearing snow and ice, and related tasks.
3. Sweeps, Scrubs, Mops and waxes Floors.
4. Vacuums and shampoos carpets as required.
5. Cleans Restrooms.
6. Washes Windows and Glass Doors.
7. Empty and clean Trash receptacles.
8. Pick up litter in and around buildings.
9. Minor Repairs.
10. Replenishing supplies.
11. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.  The demands of this job are as customary in a school bus environment.
