Sundance Circle Hippotherapy is a small but impactful
non-profit located in Sumner, WA. We provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and
speech therapy utilizing hippotherapy. We see patients 3 years old and up with varying
disabilities including but not limited to: Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular

We’re currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to lead our vibrant community of volunteers
and ensure smooth day-to-day operations that allow our riders and team to thrive.
🌟 What You’ll Do:
As our Volunteer Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in recruiting, training, and scheduling the
amazing volunteers who make our sessions possible. You’ll be the friendly face and organized
mind behind our volunteer program. This position is 25-30 hours/week on-site with some remote
work possible. Most of the work will take place on site, but we’re happy to offer some flexibility
with the weekly schedule.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruit, onboard, and train new volunteers for various roles (side-walkers, horse leaders,
barn chores, etc.)
- Manage volunteer scheduling for therapy sessions, barn chores, special events, and all
daily operations
- Regularly participate in community outreach for recruitment of additional volunteers
- Maintain timely and effective communication with staff and volunteers via email, phone,
and in-person
- Organize and implement volunteer recognitions for outstanding volunteer contributions
- Collaborate with therapists and barn staff to understand weekly needs
- Support a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for volunteers
- Represent the spirit and mission of our facility at all times
🐴 What We’re Looking For:
- Volunteer Coordination experience preferred (prior experience recruiting, training, or
coordinating volunteers is a major asset)
- Outgoing personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a diverse
group of volunteers and patients
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Flexible and adaptable to adjusting plans when working with volunteers, horses, and
patients with varying needs
- Confidence using email, scheduling tools, and basic databases
- Ability to lead and motivate volunteers with empathy and enthusiasm
- Comfort working in an outdoor/farm setting (prior equine experience a plus!)
- Familiarity with supporting and interacting with individuals with disabilities
- Confident working independently and collaborating in a team environment
- Reliable and professional - on site consistently and represent Sundance positively
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong problem solving skills - able to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
- Availability for some evening or weekend hours, based on special event and therapy
session schedules
