Seasonal Nursery Sales Associate
At Suncrest, we are excited to expand our team and are looking for a Seasonal Nursery Sales Associate who is eager to join a great team! Relationships are crucial, and providing exceptional service, creativity, and inspiration is what the Suncrest team does best!
The Seasonal Nursery Sales Associate will engage and assist customers in completing sales transactions for garden center products and goods. Additionally, this associate is motivated to ensure that customers make the best selections for their landscape needs.
The ideal candidate is excited to work outside, with customers, and has a strong background in woody ornamental trees, shrubs, and perennial plants.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work primarily in the nursery assisting in the sales of woody ornamental trees, shrubs, and perennial plants.
- Maintain plant inventory in the nursery by watering, pricing, and pruning to ensure that all items on display are appealing.
- Offer suggestions to customers who need assistance in plant selection based on the details of their landscape.
- Inform customers of all aspects of plant care needs related to pest control, lighting, planting, watering, and more as required.
- Load plants and materials on and off trucks as needed.
- Load plant materials on carts and set up in appropriate areas.
- Exercise strong communication skills will all team members, management, and customers.
- Participate in the day-to-day operations of the Retail Garden Center which includes in-store customer interactions, handling, moving, and maintaining nursery goods.
- Must have a minimum of two years of practical experience in working with and selling woody ornamental trees, shrubs, and perennial plants.
- Associates degree or higher in Horticulture preferred.
- The ability to identify plants by their common and Latin names, preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a garden center retail setting.
