Things You’ll Do
- Estimate and manage construction projects.
- Mentor and train construction interns, project engineers, and field engineers.
- Manage and review estimates.
- Monitor employee training and certification.
- Maintain recruiting, hiring, promotion, and corrective action.
- Project, organize, and implement project budgets and work under contract.
- Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues.
- Monitor and control project to ensure it is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Formulate reports concerning work progress, costs, and scheduling.
- Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts.
- Maintain insurable driving record.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or construction management.
- Seven to 10 years of progressive estimating and project management.
- Experience in management and road construction materials.
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills
- Ability to review and analyze financial information
- Strategic thinking skills
- Knowledge of Viewpoint software, Primavera scheduling software, MicroStation and Inroads design software, Heavy Construction Systems Specialists (HCSS), Heavy Bid software and basic surveying and measuring equipment
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, superior in Excel
- Ability to organize all aspects of the project and foresee and resolve project conflicts
