What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - Mechanical position at SunCoke Energy Careers?
Inspect, repair, install, adjust, test, calibrate and maintain all electrical/mechanical equipment and instruments in effort to support continuous plant operations.
Job functions below are included but not limited to:
- Performs all maintenance functions (mechanical or electrical/electronic) necessary to maintain all operating and service equipment, including mobile equipment as required.
- Operates equipment in conjunction with repairs and provides assistance in operating functions as necessary to maintain continuity of operations.
- May work alone, with minimal supervision or with other Maintenance Technicians and coordinates and works in conjunction with operating team members in the performance of maintenance tasks.
- Performs scheduled maintenance activities as required or assigned by Supervisor.
Education/Experience:
- Prior experience with Maintenance/Electrical etc.
- High School diploma and/or GED required.
- Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places; extreme heat (non-weather); and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with noise level in some areas high. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, using whole numbers.
