Custodian / Maintenance Team Member (4–5 Days per Week)

About Us
Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre is a professional Broadway-style venue serving up to 350 guests per performance. We’re seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian / Maintenance Team Member to help keep our theatre clean, organized, and performance-ready. This position offers steady hours, a friendly environment, and the chance to work behind the scenes of live entertainment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all public, backstage, and dining areas in clean and orderly condition
- Deep-clean all restrooms twice per week (floors, fixtures, and surfaces)
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean mirrors, windows, and light fixtures
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles; restock paper products and supplies
- Perform light maintenance and minor repairs as directed
- Safely handle and mix cleaning chemicals per guidelines
- Operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers, industrial vacuums, and pressure washers
- Conduct seasonal deep-cleaning projects such as window washing, signage cleaning, and exterior pressure washing
- Assist with theatrical scenery installations and takedowns during show transitions and stage changes
- Assist with setup and cleanup before and after performances or special events
- Report maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Maintain records of cleaning and maintenance activities
- Optional: perform exterior and landscape maintenance around the theatre for additional hours
Qualifications
- Experience in custodial, janitorial, or maintenance work preferred
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, tools, and materials
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work indoors or outdoors
- Experience with pressure washers, floor buffers, and industrial cleaning equipment
- Comfortable assisting with basic scenic or event setup tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Must have reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
