Special Education Teacher - Wood River Junction, RI

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid RI Department of Education certification as an All Grades Special Education - Severe Intellectual Disabilities Teacher
• Proven experience supporting students with severe or profound disabilities—elementary level preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and related service providers
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to meet the needs of students with significant intellectual disabilities
• Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Track student progress and regularly update documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
• Work closely with families, support staff, and other educators to develop comprehensive support plans
• Adapt curriculum and learning materials for diverse learner needs
