Special Education Teacher - West Hartford, CT

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A K-12 Special Education teaching opportunity is available in West Hartford, CT, starting immediately through June 16, 2026. This contract position involves providing specialized instructional support primarily for students in grades K-4, including those in specialized programs such as autism-focused services.Key responsibilities include:Delivering individualized and group instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needsCollaborating with staff, families, and specialists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate recordsAdapting materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of each studentParticipating in team meetings and professional development sessionsQualifications and experience:Bachelors degree requiredValid Department of Education (DOE) certificationSpecial Education certificationExperience working with K-4 students, especially within specialized programs supporting autism, is highly desirableStrong communication and organizational skillsLocation and schedule:Position based in West Hartford, CTMonday through Friday schedule, approximately 35 hours per week (hours may vary)This role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful educational outcomes in a supportive K-12 environment focused on specialized special education programs.
