Social Worker | Wakefield, Rhode Island

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1 years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time School Social Worker position is available to serve a middle school caseload in Wakefield, RI. This contract role runs immediately through June 16 and offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential social work support within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support middle school students by addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges to promote academic success and overall well-being
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and community resources to develop individualized intervention plans
• Conduct assessments, crisis intervention, and group or individual counseling as needed
• Facilitate communication between students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Provide case management services and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district policies
• Work under district supervision, potentially supported by paraprofessionals or licensed nursing staff

Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island School Social Worker license required
• Expertise in serving middle school-aged students preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and culturally responsive services
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Location: Wakefield, Rhode Island
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
