Located in Lewiston and Freeport, ME, this part-time, onsite contract role offers an opportunity to work as a Teacher for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (TDHH) during the 24/25 school year in an elementary school setting. This position involves working closely with a kindergarten student for 5 hours per week (1 hour per day), providing specialized instruction tailored to the student's unique communication and learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to a kindergarten student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement educational plans that support language development and academic progress
- Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure a supportive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain compliance with Maine TDHH licensure requirements and state education standards
Qualifications:
- Valid Maine Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license is essential
