ASL Interpreter | Littleton, Colorado

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A professional Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support K-12 students in a school setting located in Littleton, CO. This contract position spans the entire school year, offering an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an educational environment by facilitating effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and professional sign language interpretation services during classroom instruction, school events, and meetings.

• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other specialists to tailor interpreting strategies to individual student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards related to interpreting and education.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficient fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification preferred.
• Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of K-12 educational vocabulary and protocols.
• Ability to work effectively with children and school staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing equitable access for students with hearing impairments.
