Brief Description
The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s products and services meet company quality standards, as well as customer and regulatory requirements for quality, safety, and reliability as part of the Quality Team.
The primary focus is on driving quality assurance activities, conducting inspections, data analysis, root cause/corrective actions and supporting quality improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction. This role involves hands-on collaboration with operations and quality teams to maintain consistent quality processes.

This role involves hands-on collaboration with operations and quality teams to maintain consistent quality processes.
- Perform routine inspections and tests on products and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collect and record quality data using statistical tools to support analysis and reporting.
- Assist in developing and maintaining in-process quality checklists and documentation.
- Conducts root cause analysis and corrective action (RCA) to address quality issues.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to implement quality control measures.
- Conduct periodic audits of production processes and documentation under the guidance of the Quality Engineer.
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including inspection reports and standard work instructions.
- Support training sessions by preparing materials and helping staff adhere to quality procedures.
- Report on quality trends and issues to the Quality Engineer for further action.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff to ensure adherence to quality processes and standards.
- Maintain and update policies, procedures, and standard work instructions as required.
- Assist in preparing for external audits and certifications (e.g., ISO, AS9100).
- Support quality-related activities in conjunction with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service.
- Develop clear, concise, and accurate documentation, including policies, procedures, and standard work instructions.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality-related role.
- Basic understanding of quality control processes and manufacturing environments.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for documenting findings and supporting training.
- Familiarity with basic quality tools, such as control charts or inspection gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Comfortable working in a team environment.
- Proven experience in quality engineering, technician, or process/product quality-related role.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train and mentor staff.
- Familiarity with document control systems to ensure proper management and version control of technical documents.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement and execute improvements.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
- Attention to detail.
- Certifications: Entry-level certifications, such as Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or equivalent.
- Analytical Tools: Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic analysis.
- Performance Indicators: Contribution to defect rate reduction and improved process compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work across departments to ensure cohesive quality strategies.
- Performance Indicators: Reduction in defect rates and rework costs, improved field performance, and timely resolution of quality issues.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to production noise and activity.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and conducting hands-on inspections and audits.
