Job Description: Mentor-Coach
- Provide one-to-one mentor coaching strategies for improving teacher-child interactions and how to work with culturally, linguistically, and developmentally diverse groups of children.
- Conduct small group meetings for teaching staff to discuss appropriate curriculum planning and implementation, the ongoing assessment process, and how to individualize curriculum.
- Provide mentor-coaching strategies for teachers to reflect on and apply theory and learning to everyday practice.
- Assist with follow-up on Teaching Staff Improvement Plans as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of the program’s screenings, curriculum, and assessments to conduct operational procedures related to early care and education.
- Assist with monitoring child progress data, CLASS data, and other observational data.
- Maintain accurate files and records, and provide data and reports as required
- Communicates effectively with others, including providing feedback on the quality of services provided.
- Review curriculum plans and assessment implementation, and provide technical assistance as needed.
- Seeks out and takes advantage of opportunities to improve his/her competence.
- Provide technical assistance to support education staff in successfully fulfilling all aspects of their role, including but not limited to effective practices in the following:
- Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).
- National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation.
- Screenings, Curriculum and Assessment Implementation.
- State and Federal Early Learning Frameworks.
- Child Assessments and Outcomes.
- Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC)
- Other identified classroom observation tools.
12. Observe and monitor classrooms to provide guidance and technical assistance in the areas of curriculum implementation, CLASS, guidance, and strategies that help teachers scaffold activities for young children
13. Meets with staff regularly to plan, develop, and evaluate the effectiveness of services.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
