This role is crucial in ensuring that loan applications are processed efficiently and accurately while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with loan officers to gather necessary information for loan origination.
- Conduct credit analysis to assess borrower eligibility and risk factors.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other legal requirements throughout the loan processing cycle.
- Prepare contracts and documentation for loan approval, ensuring adherence to FNMA standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications related to the loan process.
- Coordinate with escrow companies to facilitate timely closings.
- Utilize basic math skills for calculations related to loans, payments, and interest rates.
- Perform 10 key typing for data entry tasks efficiently.
Experience
- Previous experience in loan processing or mortgage servicing is preferred.
- Familiarity with underwriting processes and guidelines is highly desirable.
- Background in financial services or banking is a plus.
- Strong understanding of credit analysis principles and practices.
- Knowledge of TILA regulations, contracts, and escrow processes is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
