Position Summary
The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of plumbing systems and fixtures across a diverse portfolio of commercial office buildings, retail centers, industrial properties, and mixed-use developments. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building plumbing systems while providing outstanding service to tenants and property managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial plumbing systems, including water, sewer, gas, and drainage systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing infrastructure to minimize downtime and costly repairs.
- Install and replace plumbing fixtures, piping, valves, water heaters, backflow prevention devices, pumps, and related equipment.
- Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies, including leaks, sewer backups, clogged drains, and water service interruptions.
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial restroom systems, flush valves, sinks, faucets, and drinking fountains.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with property managers, maintenance technicians, contractors, and tenants to complete work efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, materials used, and work orders.
- Assist with capital improvement projects and tenant improvement buildouts as needed.
- Monitor plumbing systems and recommend upgrades or repairs to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.
Qualifications
Required
- Current New Mexico Journeyman Plumber License.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial plumbing experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Preferred
- Experience working in commercial property management, facilities maintenance, or commercial construction.
- Backflow Prevention Certification.
- Holds an MM-98 or equal qualification license.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, and access confined spaces.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $29.48 - $35.51 per hour
