- Provide compassionate assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support for residents or patients.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols, including oral, topical, and tube feeding methods.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings precisely in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, wound care, and basic first aid or CPR in emergency situations.
- Support patients with mobility challenges using manual handling techniques while ensuring safety and comfort.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and state healthcare guidelines; update medical records regularly using EMR systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care—including Alzheimer’s and memory care—and hospice support is advantageous.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance or state Board of Nursing licensure are a plus.
- Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining patient dignity and comfort is necessary.
- Knowledge of state healthcare regulations and medical documentation standards ensures compliance with legal requirements.
