What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ticket Checking Manager position at Sun Valley Resort?
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Train and supervise ticket checker staff.
- Monitor daily ticket checkpoint operations to ensure efficient and accurate pass verification.
- Operate and maintain ticket scanning equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Provide accurate information and friendly assistance to guests regarding tickets, passes, and resort access.
- Address ticketing issues such as lost, stolen, or invalid passes in a professional and timely manner.
- Enforce resort policies, age restrictions, and access guidelines consistently.
- Maintain a visible presence at ticket checkpoints to support staff and assist guests.
- Promote a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and employees.
Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory or management experience, preferably in a ski resort or hospitality setting.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems and point-of-sale software (preferred).
- Able to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass Sun Valley's ski/snowboard proficiency test
- Must use personal ski/snowboard equipment
