Join our team at Sun Valley, where we deliver world-class ski and ride experiences. We are currently seeking an experienced Snow Groomer to join our Mountain Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining safe, skiable surfaces across the mountain by operating grooming equipment in a variety of conditions. This position requires experience with snowcats, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
This is a seasonal, full-time position that requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspect the assigned snowcat for mechanical issues before and after each shift

Document and report mechanical defects to snowcat maintenance

Maintain and shape ski lift ramps

Participate in daily driver meetings and execute assigned grooming projects

Collaborate with team members to determine grooming routes and fleet strategy

Transport supplies and equipment to on-mountain lodges

Operate grooming equipment on designated ski runs and trails

Operate additional machinery or tools required for grooming operations
Qualifications:

Valid U.S. Driver’s License required

High school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years or older
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and frequently up to 75 lbs

One to three seasons of relevant grooming or equipment operation experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Able to engage in physical activities, including standing, walking, gripping, handling, reaching, and working in various outdoor conditions
- Comfortable with exposure to: Moving mechanical parts, Vibration and heavy machinery, Extreme weather (cold, heat, snow, wind), Occasional high or hazardous locations, fumes, and chemicals

Willingness to work overnight shifts and flexible schedules based on weather and operational needs
