Sun Valley Resort is seeking a dedicated Lift Mechanic to join our Mountain Operations team. This hands-on and physically demanding position plays a key role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our aerial lift systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in all mountain weather conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety of all guests utilizing the lift system

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on ski lift equipment

Troubleshoot and resolve lift issues during operating seasons

Conduct thorough pre-operational and operational inspections

Work safely at advanced heights and in varied weather conditions

Monitor equipment performance using sight, sound, and touch

Collaborate with other departments and interact courteously with guests

Maintain a safety-first mindset in all aspects of work
Qualifications:

Strong mechanical aptitude; knowledge of tools and rigging preferred

Safety-conscious with high attention to detail

Comfortable working at heights and in adverse weather conditions

Ability to climb ladders and lift heavy objects

Able to stand for long periods, walk, and perform manual tasks involving gripping, handling, and reaching

Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus

Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and commitment to task completion
