What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Mechanic position at Sun Valley Resort?
The House Mechanic is responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance and repair tasks on buildings, mechanical systems, and equipment to support the daily operations of the resort. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for employees and guests.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs minor and major repairs of all buildings and equipment

Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and perform necessary repairs

Replace broken windows, repair doors, locks, and closets, and install window blinds

Repair or replace electrical components, switches, and control circuits; troubleshoot and fix refrigeration equipment

Assist with renovation and remodeling projects, including drywall repair, plaster work, and painting

Perform basic plumbing tasks such as unclogging toilets and sinks, fixing leaks, and maintaining water fountains

Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used

Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant maintenance or mechanical experience preferred

Ability to work independently and troubleshoot a wide variety of facility issues

Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
