Golf Maintenance Crew Leader/Foreman

Sun Valley Resort is seeking an experienced and motivated Golf Maintenance Crew Leader/Foreman to support the daily maintenance operations of the Trail Creek and White Clouds Golf Courses. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, this position helps lead the golf course maintenance team, ensuring the courses and surrounding grounds are maintained to the highest standards of playability, appearance, and safety. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong agronomy knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in planning daily work assignments and staffing schedules to meet operational and course maintenance goals.
• Supervise and participate in daily golf course maintenance activities to maintain exceptional playing conditions.
• Support the operation and maintenance of irrigation, drainage, and pumping systems.
• Assist with turf management programs, including fertilization, aeration, pest management, and landscape maintenance.
• Supervise equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance programs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas, maintenance facilities, and equipment storage areas.
• Promote and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Resort safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Supervise Golf Course Maintenance team members in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.
• Train, mentor, and support team members while fostering a positive, productive work environment.
• Collaborate with Golf Professionals, Resort leadership, and other departments to support course conditions and exceptional guest experiences.
• Operate equipment and perform manual labor while working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, turf management, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, equipment operation, and turf management.
• Experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems preferred.
• Current state pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• Current U.S. Driver's License required.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental and workplace safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teammates and other Resort departments.
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining exceptional course conditions.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as operational needs require.

• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for extended periods.
• Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching.
• Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
