Duties
- Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans as directed by the physical therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to enhance patient recovery.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising physical therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and pediatric settings.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients post-treatment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in physical therapy practices, including trigger point therapy and orthopedic techniques.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience or familiarity with outpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or pediatric care is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while providing patient care.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes is a plus.
