What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School and College Ministries Pastor position at Sun Valley Community Church?
POSITION SUMMARY
The High School and College Pastor serves on the Central Services Next Gen Team, providing leadership to the Student Ministry Team and ministry to Senior High and College Age students and their families at all Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC) campuses. In all actions, this role reflects the SVCC team leadership distinctives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Next Gen Team:
- Serve on the Central Services Next Gen Team, influencing the direction and implementation of ministry to students and their families at all SVCC campuses
- Provide oversight for High School and College Ministry budgeting, staffing and ministry initiatives
- Student Ministries:
- Content: Work with the Central Services Next Gen Team to determine, develop, and deliver the Student Ministry curriculum on each campus
- Consistency: Lead and ensure Student Ministries practices, behaviors, experiences and teaching are consistent on each campus
- Communication: Build clear and effective lines of communication between Student Ministry counterparts, as well as between the Central Services Next Gen Team and Campus Pastors
- Coaching: Observe the Student Ministry staff on each campus and coach them towards effectiveness and SVCC cultural consistency, as needed
- Parents:
- Work with the Central Services Next Gen Team and campus SV Students Directors to partner and equip parents to be the spiritual leaders of their families by providing resources, training, and intentional experiences
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and training (earned degrees and other credentials) that has equipped them for vocational ministry in a large ministry context
Four years of full-time experience in a leadership role in a church or related leading Student Ministries and teams through healthy ministry growth
Demonstrated spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for Pastoral leadership
Ordination or eligibility for licensure at SVCC
Strategic in nature with the ability to envision, develop systems and processes, implement and drive projects and strategies through to completion
Self-motivated, self-directed, requiring minimal supervision
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Teamwork orientation demonstrating strength to recruit, develop and motivate others in a manner consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Agrees and aligns with the mission, vision, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Five years of full-time Pastoral experience in a multi-site church setting of over 2000 regular members/attendees
