Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting in the daily operations of our café. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring food safety standards are met, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
(Required to be over 18 and must work weekends)
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders, providing recommendations when necessary.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established recipes and food safety guidelines.
- Food Prepration- handling knives and other kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including dining spaces and kitchen equipment.
- Dishwashing
- Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Assist in restocking supplies and reporting any shortages to management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring a positive dining experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety practices within the food industry is essential.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or café setting is preferred.
- The ability to multi-task is required.
- Cash handling skills with an understanding of basic math for accurate transactions.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A passion for the food industry and a willingness to learn new skills related to making food from scratch and café operations.
