Chef Manager – Sun Singer Restaurant (Champaign, IL)
Sun Singer Restaurant & Wine Bar is seeking a Chef Manager to lead our busy, privately owned American steak and seafood restaurant. For 24 years, we’ve been a community favorite, pairing a warm, welcoming atmosphere with great food, fine wines, craft spirits, and specialty beers. Generations of guests have made us their tradition—and we’re looking for the right chef to carry that tradition forward.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 5 years of kitchen experience, with a minimum of 2 years as Chef Manager.
- A strong grasp of classic American steak and seafood while remaining open to creativity and innovation.
- Easygoing leadership style with a true love of food and the ability to share that passion with others.
- Strong management and communication skills, including, but not limited to working effectively with a multi-cultural, multi-lingual staff.
- Proven financial & cost control acumen in managing food and labor costs.
- Ability to work under pressure, maintain consistency, and inspire your team.
- Collaborate with ownership and management on menu planning while honoring guest favorites.
- A genuine love of food and hospitality
