We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Procurement Manager to lead our purchasing, materials planning, and inventory management functions for a rapidly growing medical device company. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted production and global distribution of our products. You will be responsible for forecasting material needs, managing vendor relationships, optimizing supply chain systems, and maintaining inventory levels across our Dobbs Ferry warehouse operation.
This is a high-impact role for someone who excels in structured planning, cross-functional communication, and process optimization within a fast-paced, scaling organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Own the full procurement lifecycle for all materials used in manufacturing and distribution.
- Develop and maintain rolling forecasts based on sales trends, production demand, and inventory analytics.
- Proactively identify potential supply constraints and implement contingency strategies to prevent stockouts.
- Lead vendor selection, onboarding, contract negotiation, and performance management.
Vendor & Supplier Relationship Management
- Maintain strong, proactive communications with multiple suppliers to ensure accurate lead times, order confirmations, and on-time delivery.
- Establish KPIs for vendor reliability, cost performance, and quality.
- Resolve supply issues quickly and professionally, escalating as needed to maintain operational continuity.
- Evaluate alternative suppliers to support cost savings, risk mitigation, and improved material availability.
Inventory & Materials Planning
- Oversee inventory levels and maintain proper par levels for all raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Implement best-in-class inventory planning processes aligned with demand forecasting.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations to ensure accurate receiving, stock rotation, and system reconciliation.
- Lead inventory accuracy initiatives, including cycle counts and root-cause analysis on discrepancies.
Systems Ownership & Process Improvement
- Own the procurement and inventory management systems (ERP/CRM/IMS), ensuring data accuracy and consistent use across the organization.
- Identify and implement digital tools to automate purchasing, track par levels, and improve visibility into supply chain performance.
- Develop and refine SOPs for purchasing, inventory control, vendor management, and planning workflows.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and operational functions.
Cross-Functional Operational Support
- Partner with manufacturing, warehouse, sales, finance, and product development teams to align procurement activities with business needs.
- Provide leadership with reporting and insights on inventory health, supplier performance, and projected material needs.
- Support long-term strategic planning around supply chain scalability, cost optimization, and operational risk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of procurement, supply chain, or materials management experience (medical device, pharma, or regulated industry experience strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience managing forecasts, purchasing cycles, vendor negotiations, and inventory planning.
- Strong command of digital tools and platforms (Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, ERP/CRM systems, and inventory software).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor relationship management skills.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience implementing or optimizing ERP or supply chain technologies is a strong plus.
- Ability to think strategically while also executing operational detail.
