SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER (Hardware, Wearable Medical Devices)

Position Summary :

We are looking for an exceptionally talented SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER to join our R&D and Engineering team. Sun Scientific is a fast-growing, patient-centric medical device company bringing wearable therapeutic products into the future — with applications in both healthcare and consumer wellness. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will work directly with the executives and our design team to define and develop innovative new products that dramatically affect patients' quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• In this role you will collaborate directly with business stakeholders (executive and sales teams) to define future products that will drive growth in the business.
• You will understand customer and user needs and work with the hardware development team to create product definitions that meet those needs.
• This role is responsible for guiding through critical development phases and providing regular management and planning updates.
• In this role you will contribute to roadmap planning by understanding customer needs and market trends, together with assessment of team resources in collaboration with design team leaders.

Qualifications

Required

Product Development:

• 10-15 years' experience guiding cross functional development teams through development phases while working as a primary point of contact to leadership.
• Product Definition:

Proven track record of personal ownership of product requirement definition for several products that have gone through all development phases and have demonstrated market success.

• Roadmap Development:

Experience collaborating with leadership, sales and engineering groups to define medium-to-long-term product strategy.

• Project planning/scoping:

Experience estimating timing and resource requirements for a variety of product development projects in collaboration with cross functional teams

• User feedback/testing:

Deep knowledge of methods and approaches to gather and apply user feedback for critical product definition decisions and validation of customer satisfaction with products.

• Executive Interface:

Experience providing regular project progress updates to exec teams and working with exec teams to drive critical project decisions.

• Sales team interface:

Experience gathering product and user needs from sales teams. Experience providing information to sales and marketing teams to support launch of new products.

Language:

Fluent written and spoken English

Soft Skills:

• Collaboration:

Forms positive relationships with cross functional teams, naturally seeks to form group cohesion, ability to work productively through periods of disagreement.

• Communication:

Ability to work with technical teams and also present to exec/sales teams. Proficient in translating technical information into customer facing product information.

• Idea Generation:

Ability to lead collaborative brainstorms, planning and product discussions with executive and core team members.

• Ownership:

Demonstrates high level of responsibility and motivation to complete projects and launch successful products.

Preferred

• Medical Device:

Significant portion of experience with medical device development.

• Beta Testing:

Has the ability to lead formal beta testing of product to gauge customer satisfaction metrics (CSAT)

• Soft Goods:

Experience designing soft goods products. Clothing, shoes, bags, storage containers, etc.

What Success Looks Like in the First Year

You have developed a roadmap for the products that will be released in the next two years in collaboration with the executive team. You have worked with the design and engineering team to establish a phased process that can be followed through development and clearly reported to the wider org. You have learned about the existing products and are able to drive product updates and improvements.
