Part-time Shuttle Driver

Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach is seeking a reliable and patient Part-Time Seasonal Driver to assist with transportation needs for our J1 students. This role involves providing transportation for airport pickups, shopping trips, field trips, and other errands. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, a flexible schedule, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transportation Duties:
• • Provide safe and timely transportation for J1 students, staff, and guests to various destinations, including airports, shopping centers, social security office, banks, and field trips.
  • Maintain a clean and comfortable vehicle for all passengers.
  • Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage or personal items as needed.
  • Follow all road safety regulations and resort policies to ensure the safety of passengers.
• Customer Service:
• • Provide friendly and courteous service, ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.
  • Display patience and professionalism when interacting with diverse groups of people, including students and guests.
• Flexible Scheduling:
• • Be available for both AM and PM shifts as needed, with the schedule being published by mid to late April.
  • Adjust to changes in scheduling based on operational needs (e.g., occasional last-minute trips or schedule modifications).
• Vehicle Maintenance:
• • Conduct basic vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition (e.g., checking tire pressure, fuel levels, cleanliness).
  • Report any vehicle issues or required maintenance to the supervisor promptly.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance with approval from supervisor.
• Documentation:
• • Keep accurate records of all trips, including passenger details, mileage, and trip purposes.
  • Ensure all required forms and documentation are filled out completely and accurately.

Qualifications:

• Clean Driving Record:
• • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and driving record check.
• Experience:
• • Previous experience as a driver, shuttle driver, or in a similar transportation role is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with students or large groups is a plus.
• Personal Traits:
• • Patient, friendly, and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions and schedules.
  • Able to remain calm and adaptable under varying traffic conditions or unexpected schedule changes.
  • Comfortable driving a variety of vehicles, including larger transport vans or shuttle buses.
• Scheduling Flexibility:
• • Ability to work flexible hours, including both AM and PM shifts.
  • Must be available starting April 25, 2025, through the end of the season (specific end date will be provided).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while driving.
• Ability to assist passengers with loading and unloading personal items, which may include luggage or other belongings (up to 25 lbs).
• Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.

This is a part-time, seasonal position working at Sun Outdoors located in Conway, South Carolina. Flexible scheduling required, including mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.
