What are the responsibilities and job description for the Canning Line Shift Lead - 2nd Shift position at Sun King Brewery?
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to assist the Canning Line Manager in running, operating, cleaning & maintaining the canning line and packaging hall.
Duties
- Responsible for leading a canning shift with both full-time and part-time staff
- Assist in daily start up/shut down/CIP procedures of canning line machinery
- Assist in all operations pertaining to the canning packaging deck (Oxywave test, CaniBus, CFT, Heuft, VideoJet, conveyors, CBox, Switchback, CMC Kuhnke, PFD, ATP swabs)
- Perform Quality Control protocols ensurning that accurate batch and date codes are on the packaging, seam measuring, Packaging DO checks, tasting, etc.
- Oversee and perform can packaging, casing & cleaning operations
- Communicate clearly with the Canning Line Manager and other depended department on changes to packaging schedule
- Use of Microsoft Office and programs like Word, Excel, and Sharepoint and other production related softward to keep daily canning logs.
- Check and record beer information in brite tanks before and after packaging (product volume, CO2 volume, DO, temperature, etc)
- Update Production board to reflect canning activity
- Inspect seams and record seam information daily
- Record daily canning run and report to Canning Line Manager
- Report any issues to Canning Line Manager
- Assist in route maintenance on the canning line
- Clean packaging deck daily

- Able to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.) safely
- Must know how to use CBox
- Willing to work evening/night shifts outside of normal business hours
- Valid fork lift certification and ATC server’s permit
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications:
- · High school diploma/GED
- · Previous mechanical experience or education
- · PLC (programmable logic controller) experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
